I agree with Dian Sâstró…..

It’s not the fact that she (Dian Sastrowardoyo) is pretty, cute or beautiful, but I’m trying to comprehend slowly that she is more than a great thinker, but she also involved in it. In a SUARA MERDEKA’s Article yesterday (10 March ’08),

I agree with her thought, as a new assistant professor in Faculty Of Philosophy at Indonesian University, Jakarta. As she realizes that the today’s teaching method can use the technology which is capable for the modern era. For example; when she finished her undergraduate paper she consults with her professor using the latest conversation technology (Yahoo Messenger) and for the revision of her undergraduate paper, she used electronic mail…in this case,

I agree about her thought in technology and also the saving for the paper, because the waste of the paper would be an large amount of garbage in the future. How we could see a good environment if the large amount of paper waste is around us? This is the problem that proves her capacity as thinker from Faculty of Philosophy. I wonder why she hasn’t written a book yet.

I admired her thought about pretty and beautiful as the construction and foundation of today’s people vision? In this country, she explained at her undergraduate paper about Construction of Beauty in this country need to be re-cleared again, because usually lot of our society said that the pretty girl and woman are seek from outside and usually visualized with white-woman-looking and good-looking-performance, because the inner beauty and inner handsome of a person is usually forgettable. I’ve never regret on it, and I tried to comprehend it, but anyway the construction of her thought is always attended not only be me, but also other today philosopher.

I didn’t reclaim that certain part of our rural society described the beauty explained from the make-up, but we have to remember that the inner side and aspect is also important thing which we need to memorize.

I don’t know whether Dian Sastro would think about development in Yogyakarta, because the spiritual leader in here is completely influenced for its society. Perhaps she (Dian Sastro) could explain to Yogya’s people that Sri Sultan HB X need good advice and council for his own future, and she should think also about the inner spiritual aspect for Yogyakarta in order to obtain good balance between traditional aspect and modern aspect. We could say a good harmony which is needed to develop the traditional aspect, in this case I would love to underline the transportation (becak, delman, andong, etc.) against modern one (large amount of motorcycle in Yogya, and the TRANSYOGYAKARTA) which is usable for everybody but we have to see is not only the form and its size but also inner function (in linguistic term we could confront Saussurean term between form vis-à-vis substance).

Previous topics which I’ve discussed is about transportation, in this case, I’d rather interesting to see if Dian Sastro published and act as a marketing manager for the traditional public transportation service. Dian Sastro could publish a delman easily as safety transportation, but in the other hand she holds lot of public attention to her beauty and her eyes. Not only the linguistic aspect that related to Dian Sastro’s appearance in the way had she talked, but also the philosophical construction that we should see from her, in this case we understand that beauty that she wrote in her undergraduate paper is no longer about the beauty and luxurious life style, but the beauty of a girl which is related to the simple and modest life.

Probably lot of construction and form that we need to discuss but it’s just a small example of her thought. Other thought that Dian Sastro have explained is about her vision to fashion mode, I guess that she is looking forward to continue her overseas studies such as Julie Estelle, perhaps. But I’m not sure which of Philosophical study that she will choose because Feminism is the best part for Dian, the woman appearance is not subjected to its role but also its obeisance to the God divine…an aspect that need to be profoundly discussed with philosophical ways, that systematize the synchronic system between the language and its object, because as the creation of God we have to dramatize small entity of ourselves so that we could be called as handsome or pretty.

The other parts is our part or function in this world, we can categorized ourselves as a exorability function for a fine-looking or beauty but we have to know when to use it, because not every person agree with substance and form that we brought in our daily life (human nature)
